This past summer, my husband and I took our daughter on her first overnight trip to Niagara Falls, Ontario. After checking various hotel review websites, we booked our stay at the Wyndham Garden Niagara Falls Fallsview Hotel. We chose this hotel in particular as it was reasonably priced and appeared to be well-maintained. Unfortunately, it did not live up to our expectations. Read on for a full review and to find out why we would not stay at the Wyndham Garden Niagara Falls Fallsview Hotel again.

Booking the Wyndham Garden Niagara Falls Fallsview Hotel
To book our stay at the Wyndham Garden Niagara Falls Fallsview Hotel I used booking.com. Compared to the hotel’s website, their rates were on par plus they offer the added bonus of free cancellation.
The Location of the Wyndham Garden Niagara Falls Fallsview Hotel
The Wyndham Garden Niagara Falls Fallsview Hotel is centrally located in the heart of the Fallsview District. It took us roughly 10 minutes to walk to the falls themselves, and about 15 minutes to walk to Clifton Hill. Attractions in the immediate vicinity include the IMAX Theatre and the Skylon Tower.
The Room at the Wyndham Garden Niagara Falls Fallsview Hotel
Rooms at the Wyndham Garden Niagara Falls Fallsview Hotel are located in one of two “towers.” Tower “A” is the original Wyndham Garden Niagara Falls Hotel, and Tower “B” is the former Best Western Fallsview Hotel. Tower “A” is newer and more modern while Tower “B” needs a facelift. Be aware that promotional media for the Wyndham Garden Niagara Falls Fallsview Hotel only shows images of Tower “A,” which is extremely misleading.
We booked a Deluxe Balcony City View Room and we were disappointed to find out that our room, along with all other balcony rooms were located in Tower “B.” To make matters worse, our room was on the first floor adjacent to a door in the corridor. This made it difficult to sleep with so many people coming and going at all hours of the night.
The room itself was spacious and easily fit two queen beds and a crib. Our only complaint about the sleeping arrangements was that the crib provided was smaller than the standard size and was, therefore, slightly too small for our child. There was also a comfortably sized chair and table, a desk and chair, flat-screen TV, and plenty of storage space. The room was equipped with a small coffee machine; however, it lacked a fridge and microwave.
The bathroom was small but functional. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash along with other toiletries including hand soap and body lotion were provided.
Our balcony was a huge disappointment. We had hoped to be able to enjoy the city view, but instead, we looked over the parking lot into the IHOP lobby. The light also turned on automatically once things got dark, leaving us with no privacy.
Hotel Amenities at Wyndham Garden Niagara Falls Fallsview Hotel
The Wyndham Garden Niagara Falls Fallsview Hotel has several useful amenities outside of the room. There is a small fitness center and an indoor pool, plus a game room perfect for rainy days. Food-wise, there is a small cafe in Tower “A” and IHOP is attached to Tower “B.”
The Staff and Service at Wyndham Garden Niagara Falls Fallsview Hotel
The staff at the Wyndham Garden Niagara Falls Fallsview Hotel were friendly, and check-in was quick and easy. We appreciated that they honoured our request for a crib in the room.
Our Overall Impression of Wyndham Garden Niagara Falls Fallsview Hotel
The Wyndham Garden Niagara Falls Fallsview Hotel was merely satisfactory, and for the price, I would have expected better. While we did appreciate having a balcony for when our daughter was asleep, the lack of privacy was a huge downfall.
We were also upset about the misrepresentation of the hotel, specifically, Tower “B.” Had we known our room was to be located in this building, we would probably have chosen to stay elsewhere.
Based on this experience, I am giving the Wyndham Garden Niagara Falls Fallsview Hotel a negative review and therefore would not recommend this hotel for your trip to Niagara Falls, Ontario!
